Overview of Building Blocks of Quranic Recitation Program

The Advanced Tajweed Program is designed for women aged 15 and above who have completed foundational and intermediate Tajweed studies and are ready to engage with the science of Qur’anic recitation at a deeper, more specialized level.

This program looks into the deeper aspects of Makhaarij (Articulation Points), Sifaat (Characteristics of Letters), and Waqf wal Ibtidaa (Rules of Pausing and Starting)—important parts that define precision, fluency, and beauty in recitation.

The Advanced Tajweed Program is divided into two levels: Advanced Tajweed Course Level1 and Advanced Tajweed Course Level 2

Advance Tajweed Course Level 1

Course Description

 

This course introduces students to the Makhaarij al-Huruf—the precise articulation points of Arabic letters. Students will explore the five major articulation zones: Al-Jawf (oral cavity), Al-Halq (throat), Al-Lisaan (tongue), Ash-Shafataan (lips), and Al-Khaishuum (nasal cavity).

The course also includes guided revision and practical exercises to reinforce accurate pronunciation and placement of each letter.

Who is it for?

  • Women aged 15+ who have completed Tajweed Level 2.
  • Students seeking to move from intermediate to advanced application of Tajweed principles.
  • Learners looking to fine-tune their recitation through accurate articulation.

Prerequisites

  • Completion of Tajweed Course Level 2 or an equivalent intermediate Tajweed knowledge.
  • Entry assessment or submission Tajweed Course Level 2  is required before enrollment.

Advance Tajweed Course Level 2

Course Description

This course covers the Sifaat al-Huruf (Characteristics of Letters)—both those with opposites and those without—providing an in-depth look at the qualities that define how each Arabic letter is pronounced.

Students will study characteristics like Al-Jahr, Al-Hams, As-Shiddah, Ar-Rikhwah, and Al-Qalqalah, among others. Additionally, the course focuses on Al-Waqf wal-Ibtidaa’ (Rules of Pausing and Starting), essential for reading Qur’anic verses with proper rhythm. The course concludes with a focus on special words in the recitation of Hafs ‘an ‘Aasim, helping students refine their practical recitation with real examples from the Qur’an.

Who is it for?

  • Students who have completed Advanced Tajweed Level 1 or are proficient in articulation points.

  • Learners aiming to attain precision in their recitation and aspire to teach or pursue Ijāzah in the future.

  • Completion of Advanced Tajweed Course Level 1 or equivalent knowledge.

     

  • Entry assessment or submission of Advanced Level 1 certificate is required before enrollment.
