Overview of Building Blocks of Quranic Recitation Program

The Building Blocks of Quranic Recitation Program (Ages 4–7) is a structured, step-by-step course designed to develop early literacy and fluency in Qur’an reading among young children. Divided into five progressive levels, it introduces Arabic letters, vowels, and basic Tajweed rules through engaging lessons, visual aids, repetition, recitation drills, and games. The program nurtures recognition, pronunciation, confidence, and love for the Qur’an, allowing each child to progress at their own pace with fluency and proper etiquette.

Course Description

This course is an introduction to Arabic literacy. It helps children recognize and pronounce the 28 Arabic letters, including Hamzah and Lam-Alif, and teaches the four forms of each letter (beginning, middle, end, and isolated). The course also introduces Arabic numerals (0–4) and includes interactive revision activities.

Who is it for?

  • Children aged 4–7 who are new to Arabic reading.

  • Kids who need a gentle introduction to the Arabic script and numbers.

Course Description

Building on letter recognition, this course introduces short vowels (Fatha, Kasrah, Dammah), Sukoon, long vowels (Basic Madd), double vowels (Tanween), and Shaddah (double consonants). Children will also continue with Arabic numerals (5–9) and participate in frequent revision and practice sessions.

Who is it for?

  • Children who have completed TBC Level 1.
  • Learners who recognize Arabic letters and are ready to begin reading letter-vowel combinations.

Course Description

Tajweed Level 1 introduces young learners to the basics of Tajweed and the etiquettes of Qur’anic recitation. Children learn what Tajweed is, why it’s important, and how to recite the Qur’an respectfully. The course explores common pronunciation mistakes (Al-Lahn) and the different levels of recitation, along with the rulings of Sujud at-Tilaawah (prostration of recitation).

Course Description

Tajweed Level 3 focuses on the different types of Madd (elongation) that enhance the beauty and accuracy of Qur’anic recitation. Starting with the Natural Madd, students explore more advanced types like Maddul-Iwadh, Maddul-Badal, Maddul-Waajibul-Muttasil, and Maddul-Jaa’izul-Munfasil, especially those caused by Hamzah.

Who is it for?

  • Children aged 6–7 who’ve completed Tajweed Level 2.
